The Bobcats Dichotomy
A boost of mental fortitude, maturity and hoops IQ would take this Charlotte squad to another level (i.e. the Atlanta Hawks).

Out Of Ammo
While other players in the 2006 draft screamed potential, what the Bobcats needed at the time was a proven commodity, a “can’t miss” player and while believing they found him, they actually missed badly.

Charlotte Bobcats 2nd Half Summit

When we last left the Bob's boys last season, this was a team on the rise and a few key injuries away from making a lot of noise in the Eastern Conference.

Courtside At The Opener
The Charlotte Bobcats opened their season with an energetic 102-99 win over the Milwaukee Bucks. The game kicks off what is an important season for the team, as new acquisition Jason Richardson made his Bobcats debut after a draft night trade, and the young core of Gerald Wallace, Raymond Felton, and Emeka Okafor look to improve on last years 33-49 mark.

2007-2008 Season Preview: Charlotte Bobcats
The Charlotte Bobcats are entering their fourth year of existence, and if they’ve proven anything, it’s that they know how to do things right. Charlotte has improved in wins – 18, 26, and 33 last year – all three seasons and continues to be on the rise.

30 Teams, 30 Days: Charlotte Draft Preview (22nd)
Without a consistent scoring threat, points were hard to come by in 2006, and with the 22nd pick they could look for that explosive, off the bench spark that they’ve been missing. They need help on the wings and down low, and will look to address both areas in the draft or package them to move up.

30 Teams, 30 Days: Charlotte Bobcats
Whether or not they decide to bring back Gerald Wallace, they must address their lack of depth at the small and power forward positions.

What’s Next for Bob’s Boys?

RotoFreak.com: Charlotte Bobcats Fantasy Preview
After a mildly disappointing 04-05 campaign, Gerald Wallace launched himself into fantasy superstardom last year. When healthy, he was a clear-cut top-20 fantasy player, averaging 15 PTS, 7.5 REB, 2.5 STL and 2.1 BLK. See who else on the Bobcats you might want on your fantasy basketball team.

Future Looks Bright But Good Draft Is Needed For Charlotte
Both the Knicks and Bobcats are (re)building franchises, but they are taking total different approaches. New York is signing or trading for every possible overpaid player in the league, while the Bobcats are drafting safe and developing young players and trying to find the diamond in the rough.

One Half Down, One More To Go
One half of the season is done and one half left to go as your Charlotte Bobcats look to improve on a first half where anything and everything has seemed to go wrong for the second year team

Okafor’s Sophomore Slump
After last year’s draft, myself and a handful of others felt that the Orlando Magic would rue the day that they passed on Emeka Okafor in the 2005 NBA Draft and that the Los Angeles Clippers were fools for trading down to draft Shaun Livingston. One season later, Okafor was the rookie of the year, Howard looks to have more upside and the Clippers are the best team in Los Angeles.

Dear Santa...
As I finish all my last bit of thanksgiving turkey and all the trimmings and get ready to embark on my Christmas shopping for others, I had to get my list ready for Santa Claus for my Charlotte Bobcats.

I Got the News: 20 Things From The Off-Season That You Need To Know
Brilliant marketing ploy? Basketball genius? The Bobcats front office claims they drafted UNC stars Raymond Felton and Sean May purely from a basketball standpoint. OK, if you say so. Either way, Felton and May are now probably the most marketable NBA players in Charlotte since Larry Johnson. Get ready for Eddie 2 starring Felton, May, Nelly and your loveable coach Rosie O’Donnell. Great family fun.

Bobcats Update
Can the Tarheel due of Felton and May lead the Bobacts to the promised land next season?

Bernie Has A Plan
Since the Bobcats held the 5th and 13th picks in the draft, I had two chances to scream at GM Bernie Bickerstaff on this night. Raymond Felton was the player I desperately wanted the Bobcats to take at number 5. David Stern walked up the podium to announce the 5th pick...

Charlotte Drafts Tarheel Teammates Felton And May
Charlotte general manager and head coach Bernie Bickerstaff has placed a premium on drafting players with championship experience. Like last years second overall pick Emeka Okafor, May and Felton were instrumental in leading their team to a NCAA Championship.

The Bobcats Draft A Tar Heel Shade Of Blue, Twice
The pick of Felton almost assures two things. First, the Bobcats will get up and down the court a little more, pushing the tempo whenever possible. Second, the Bobcats should see an increase in attendance due to the large quantity of UNC alum and fans in the area, likely ready to drop money for Bobcats tickets. Definitely a plus for the fan base that needed a bit of a push after the Hornets left town.

Future Looking Bright for ‘Cats Through Draft
In this years draft the ‘Cats hold the 5th and 13th pick. Their biggest needs are a young point guard and a big time scorer or shooter. The Bobcats have been looking to trade up to either the number 2 or 3 spot in the draft so that they could pick up Marvin Williams or one of the top two point guard prospects in Chris Paul and Deron Williams.

An Early Look at Free Agents from Other Teams

Flynn Versus Realistic Expectations
As his rookie season winds down, it seems that the lofty expectations of Jonny Flynn have proven out of reach. Were those expectations fair to begin with? After all, this is a team with a new GM and a new coach.

Doubling Down On Jarrett Jack
The takeaway from spending a little bit of time around the Raptors is that this feels like Jarrett Jack’s team. Beyond Bosh, Bargnani and Calderon, the team has been completely replaced in the last year and Jack represents the impact of the overhaul.

Passing On Kobe's Heroics
The Lakers are 34-1 when they finish games with at least 20 assists this season. They haven't passed the ball like they have in the past and it has had a direct impact on the quality of their looks and their drop in offensive efficiency.

No Stars In Sight
At least on paper, the Pistons have the least talented team in the league, which is a problem compounded by where they are in terms of payroll and future cap flexibility.

A Darko Experiment Gone Right
The worst case scenario to feeding Darko Milicic a healthy dose of minutes is that he’s a useful experiment. We finally get to see what the team looks like with Al Jefferson or Kevin Love at their true power forward positions with a rim-protecting center next to them.

Butler's Impactful Start In Dallas
Truth be told, the defensive-minded Brendan Haywood is probably the piece the Mavs needed most. Caron Butler, however, gives the team a guard that can go out and make guys like Carmelo, Kobe and Roy work extra hard on both ends of the floor, something they haven’t had in past years.

Context In Statistics: Pace Factor
Monta Ellis shoots 22.1 shots per game on a team that averages 102.7 possessions. That works out to 21.5% of possessions ending in Monta shots, which is less than both Carmelo Anthony and Kobe Bryant, while just slightly ahead of Kevin Durant.

The Warriors trailed by at least 14 points in every one of their homestand games and cut that lead down to five or less in four of the six, taking wins in two of them.

Hoarding Assets Will Eventually Turn Wolves Into Contenders
The Minnesota Timberwolves are in the basement of the NBA again and have an unbalanced roster, but they have too many assets on their current roster, playing in Europe and impending lottery picks to not return to the playoffs in another season or two. Kurt Rambis spoke to RealGM about their present and the development he's seen.

The Box Scores And Beyond
Nellieball can often be defined as a feedback loop- Better defense and/or better rebounding leads to more fastbreak opportunities, free throws, and a higher efficiency offense that leads to less fastbreak looks for the opponents.
